JOIN IDI AND BE PART OF IRELAND’S COMMUNITY OF DESIGN PROFESSIONALS

As a member of IDI, you will be part of a community of professional designers, sharing values and using our combined faculties to promote, activate and advocate for Irish design.

As an IDI member you will get access to preferential fees for sector-specific training courses designed and organised by our partner, Design Skillnet. You will also be entitled to enter the prestigious annual IDI Awards and get invites to other industry-related events.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Irish or Irish-based designers with a third-level degree in design or a third-level design-related course and a minimum of two years’ professional design experience are welcome to apply. Experienced self-taught professional designers may also apply.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A FULL MEMBERSHIP?

New membership applications are welcome from designers who have qualified from a third-level design or design-related course and have at least two years’ professional experience working in design. Self-taught designers may also apply. All applications will be reviewed by a panel of experts - the €50 membership application fee is a one-off fee that covers the cost of reviewing your application to join. Please note, this fee is not deductible from your membership fee if your membership is approved.

To apply for FULL membership of IDI, please complete the form below and email us your CV. Once your application has been reviewed and approved by the IDI Professional Practice Committee, you will receive an email confirming your membership. It is important to follow this rigorous process in order to maintain the highest standards.

If your membership is approved, you will receive an email inviting you to upgrade to full membership. Individual/Solopreneur membership of IDI costs €197 per year.

Please note that if your employer already has IDI membership and you are newly applying for membership as part of a Studio Package, you still need to get in touch with us at info@idi-design.ie to be added to the group membership. If you are already a member via your company membership, log in here to view your profile and update your details.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A STUDIO PACKAGE?

Studio Packages are for design practices or design-related businesses that employ at least 2 qualified designers.

Companies must have at least 1 designer who has already been admitted to IDI via the paid application process described above, before applying for a Studio Package. All subsequent employees must also complete the paid online application before being admitted as members.

Group Full Membership (Small) | €645 | For companies with 2 - 4 qualified designers

Group Full Membership (Medium) | €1265 | For companies with 5 - 9 qualified designers

Group Full Membership (Large) | €1565 | For companies with 10 - 15 qualified designers

Group Full Membership | €1945 | For companies with 15+ qualified designers

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A LARGE ENTERPRISE PACKAGE?

If you are a full-time design student you can sign up to receive IDI communications by signing up to the Newsletter at the bottom of the page.

A New Design Graduate?

Recent graduates are very welcome to join as Graduate Members because you are the future of Irish design. If you have graduated within the past three years with a Level 7, 8 or 9 design degree or design-related course, you can sign up as an IDI Graduate member. You do not need to send us your CV.

COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Third-level colleges in Ireland offering accredited degree level design programmes may apply for Institutional membership of IDI. That college Institutional Membership enables design faculty members to avail of complimentary IDI membership, if they apply for IDI Individual Membership.
